BJP all set to form PBMC State President lists priorities of the new Council

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here is all set to form the Port Blair Municipal Council with two independent candidates, who won the recently concluded Panchayat & Municipal election, joining the Party while the other independent candidate has also extended support to the Party, said the State President BJP, Shri Vishal Jolly while briefing media persons at a press conference held in the BJP Bhavan here today.
The two independent candidates, who joined the Party are Shri Ramzan Ali, Councilor Ward No.3 and Shri Dharmendra Narayan, Councilor Ward No.17. Independent candidate, Shri Sanjay Meshak, Councilor Ward No. 23, has assured of his unconditional support to the Party. The Party has won as many as 11 out of the 24 seats in the Municipal Election, Shri Jolly said and attributed the victory to the hard works done by the party workers.
Expressing gratitude to the people of all section, for their support in voting the Party to a historic victory across the Islands, both in the three tier system of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Municipal Council, Shri Vishal jolly assured them that the Party will work whole heartedly for the welfare of the people and will shoulder their grievances and demands. Port Blair Municipal Council will not only run by the BJP Councilors, but people's suggestions will be invited for better development of their respective areas, while the wards where BJP candidates have failed to win the election will also be developed at par with the other wards, he said mentioning the Modi Government's slogan of "Sab ka saath sab ka vikas".
The BJP State President also informed that the PBMC's priority will be the cleanliness of Port Blair town as also the supply of fresh drinking water, sufficiently, to the residents of the town. The town will also get a face lift as per the guidelines of the 'Smart City' Programme of the Government, he said adding that the Party will also construct a Shaheed Park, to be dedicated as a place of pilgrimage, in which statues of those Islands' martyrs, who laid down their lives while serving the country in the defense services, will be installed, Shri Jolly said.
