State-Level Workshop on D.El.Ed Syllabus Revision commences at TGCE

The five-day state-level workshop for the revision of the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) syllabus at DIET, Garacharma, commenced today at TGCE in Sri Vijaya Puram. This significant event convened educators, subject experts, and educational authorities from across the nation to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing and updating the D.El.Ed curriculum to address the evolving needs of the education sector.
The chief guest, Shri Gyansheel Dubey, Head of Office at the Directorate of Education, highlighted the indispensable role of the D.El.Ed syllabus in cultivating future teachers and described the workshop as a timely and strategic effort to bridge current gaps. He encouraged participants to engage in the revision process with a progressive outlook, considering the evolving challenges that the education sector faces today.
Dr. Manju Lata Rao, Principal of TGCE, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. In her address, she emphasized that the revision of the D.El.Ed syllabus is the "need of the hour", given the rapidly evolving educational landscape and growing demands on teachers.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Smti Sangeeta Chand, Principal of SIE/DIET. She emphasised the necessity of aligning the D.El.Ed syllabus with contemporary educational practices and national standards.
A major highlight of the workshop was the participation of several distinguished educationists from reputed mainland institutions. These expert speakers included Dr. Nahar Singh, Former Joint Director (Academic), SCERT, New Delhi, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Principal, DIET, R.K. Puram, New Delhi, Dr. Sahrad Sharma, Assistant Professor, SCERT, New Delhi and Dr. Varun Ashokan, Assistant Professor, RIE, Bhubaneswar.
They shared their expertise on modern teaching strategies, curriculum development, and the integration of technology in teacher education.
