Vanmahotsava celebrated at Dte. of Census Operations

The Directorate of Census Operations, A&N Islands celebrated Van Mahotsava from July 1 to 31 along with the rest of the country. Inaugurating the ceremony on 1st July, the Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Shri Ram Avtar stressed on the planting of trees.
During the month, cleanliness drive was conducted as a pre-requisite to planting the trees and shrubs mushrooming in the compound were weeded out. Hundreds of plants and tree saplings were planted during the Van Mahotsava. Saplings of fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants were planted. The entire month was celebrated as Van Mahotsava on the theme “Clean India, Green India”, a communication said.
