A&N Police arrests two in drug peddling

The South Andaman District Special Team on reliable source information apprehended a passenger namely Sheikh Murtaza and his wife Tanuja Bibi R/o South Point who disembarked from the ship M.V. Swaraj Dweep today, which had arrived from Kolkata.  The Police recovered 500 gms of illicit ganja and 16 small packets containing brown sugar weighing 3.270 gms from their possession. On this, a case under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered against them at PS Chatham and they will be produced in the Court at Port Blair. Further investigation of the case continues.
