Gymnast Dipa Karmakar felicitated at Neil Island

On invitation of the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat and people of Neil Island, Miss Dipa Karmakar, India's first participant in Rio Olympic in Gymnast visited Neil Island today and participated in a felicitation programme organized at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Neil Island.
On her reaching at Neil Island, she was received and welcomed at jetty by Pradhan, Shri Ramkrishna Biswas and all HODs and a large number of general public with great pomp and gaiety.
A colourful cultural programme was organized by the students of GSSS Neil Island where Dipa was felicitated and honoured with bouquet by the Pradhan, Principal, GSSS Neil Island, Shri Jacob Kutty. She appreciated the hospitality of the people of the Island and beauty of the Island. She also participated in the tree plantation programme in the campus of the GSSS Neil Island.
