Port Blair ,

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is firmly on its way to achieve the Prime Minister's dream of 'Housing for All'. Under the flagship PMAY (U) scheme, Andaman & Nicobar Administration is implementing an ambitious project to construct a total of 555 low cost housing units for the islanders belonging to economically weaker section at two sites viz. Prothrapur and Brookshabad.
The PBMC is the Nodal Agency through which the project is being implemented. In its execution, PBMC is being assisted by National Building Construction Corporation Ltd. which is a Government PSU. The project envisages development of residential units, commercial spaces, open space etc. at the two sites.
With a vibrant residential population and large integrated commercial area, businesses will also find this project an attractive proposition. The project has achieved the much awaited RERA Registration (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) from Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority on July 7. RERA protects rights of the buyers and promotes investment in the Real Estate Sector.
In a press release, the Secretary, PBMC said that the registration will bring in transparency and accountability in the project's execution. Currently, the earthwork is in progress at Brookshabad site. The project is slated to be completed in 2022.
